Hi. I'm trying to activate Apple Pay in Portugal.
In this article, I'm told that Apple Pay can only be activated for merchants in the United States, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand. However, in this article regarding payment methods available in Portugal, I'm told I can add Apple Pay.
Which one is right? If I can add Apple Pay, then how? The first link doesn't help me much. I have ShopifyPayments activated.
Thank you so much in advance.
Thank you for reaching out and posting this question!
You are correct in that Apple Pay isn't available through all regions of Shopify Payments. However, I can confirm that Apple Pay is available on Shopify Payments for Portugal and you can follow our step-by-step guide to activate Apple Pay for your store. If you need further assistance with this, then we'd be happy to further assist you through live chat, email, or callback. Simply visit the Shopify Help Center and log into your account to create a support request.
I noticed that you're a new member of our Shopify Community! I'd love to hear more about your business and share some resources to help you get started. What kinds of products are you selling? Do you have a marketing plan prepared for your store?
Thank you so much for your reply! I had already seen those articles, the same ones I mentioned in my question. My problem is that the explanation to activate Apple Pay is not helpful.
I can't get past the "In the section for your credit card payment provider, click Manage."
Where is that section?
Thank you for following up and sharing the additional context.
There doesn't appear to be a section for you to manage the Shopify Payments settings yet as your payments account seems to be pending activation. Typically, once the payments account is activated, there will be a button for you to configure the Shopify Payments settings and this is where merchants can edit the banking details, choose the store's accepted credit card types, and adjust the payout schedules.
Here is where the manage button and wallets section is located on my test store:
If refreshing the page or reactivating Shopify Payments doesn't help resolve this issue, then it looks like we'll need to access your account in order to resolve the problem. While we're unable to provide account-specific support via the Shopify Community, we'd be happy to further assist you through live chat, email, or callback. Please visit the Shopify Help Center and log into your account to create a support request.
Once you've resolved this issue with our live support team, please keep me posted on the resolution and I'd love to hear more about your experience so far with Shopify. Cheers!
