add new provider for payment

I would like to add a payment option to my store through a new provider.

I develop code for the interface in front of it.

Communication with him includes:

1. Create a payment transaction with the transaction details

2. Checking the status of the transaction

I'm afraid we are not accepting new payment gateways at the moment:

There is more information here on Shopify Payments Apps API if you'd like to learn more about submitting there! Can I ask if you are a developer trying to create a new gateway, or are you a merchant who is would like more options than are currently available here? Just to gather more context on how to help!

I am a developer for a specific merchant and would like to add in the store a new payment option (like paypal etc.) that does not currently exist in Shopify.

Is there another option besides adding a new app?

I'm afraid not at the moment, the only gateways that are eligible to use are the ones listed on the payment gateway list here. Can I ask what gateway your client would like to use? Or what limitations they are finding with the current list of gateways available to them? Just to see if I can make any suggestion on how you can work around this!
