Adding a manual payment option

We run an online cycle shop and currently have shopify pay and PP at checkout.

We would like to offer the cycle to work scheme on products but this way of purchasing needs doing manually as we would need to submit a claim for the customer to approve. So at checkout we would like another option next to Shopify Pay and PP called 'Cycle to Work' which the customer can choose and checkout, no money will be taken but they will get a confirmation and then we will send them the paperwork to fill in via email.

Can this be added to checkout?

Yes, you can achieve this by going to Settings, Payment, + Manual Payment Method then selecting create custom payment method. This will add an additional option on the checkout for customers to select. The order will be created but no payment will be taken.

This doesn't include a button on the basket page, but that could be custom coded if needed.
