Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi everyone,
We'd love a little help.
We create bespoke keepsakes and require six weeks to create an order. We can create orders in less than six weeks, but would need to implement a rush fee to bump the order up the line and take importance over others.
We've implemented a calendar on the cart page which allows the customer to choose the date they require their keepsake for.
We would like to implement a code which automatically adds the rush fee to the cart if the date they have selected is 6 weeks or less from the date they check out and make payment.
Is there code that can be written into the cart page which can do this?
Thanks so much in advance!
Hi @MauveIC ,
This can done with custom script in the theme, which will compare the current date with selected date if it's less than your desired date. A product for rush fee will be added into the cart.
This will hide the calendar field in cart, if user remove the rush fee product calendar field will be enable again.
Thank you so much!
We would like the customer to select a date as part of the cart check out as a mandatory feature in order to confirm their order. Only if they select a date six weeks or under, with the rush fee be applied to their cart.
Can code be written for this, or is an app better?
Yes, this can be done using custom dev too. Let me know if interested in custom code in theme, details are in post footer.
