Adding Input Fields for FSSAI and GST Numbers

I am currently running an e-commerce FMCG B2B website on the Shopify platform. To comply with industry regulations and streamline our operations, it is essential that we collect certain mandatory information from our customers during the checkout process. Specifically, we need to add input fields to capture the FSSAI number and GST number from our customers, with the GST number & FSSAI being compulsory.

I have explored various options and searched extensively through Shopify’s documentation and forums, but I have not been able to find a clear solution to implement these fields effectively.

Could you please provide guidance on how to add these fields to our checkout process? This is crucial for our business operations, and we would greatly appreciate your prompt assistance in resolving this matter.

Unless you are on shopify plus, you don't get the option to customize the checkout

Instead of you can look for available apps for GST on the app store

Hi, @preet3. Editing the checkout is limited so while it isn't possible to access the checkout code to make changes like this without being on Shopify Plus, you can make changes to other parts of your shop to gather this information. For example, the cart page. You can find more information on how to do this here. You may also be able to use third party apps to help you with this.

After using this will i able to see their Fssai and GST in customer tab ? or  i have to do othre changes also its just html changes and there will be changes needed in backend also. so where can i get this ? do you have any article or something ..? it would be great help.
