Apple Pay is not working for me. I get the message:
"There was an issue with apple pay. Try again or use a different payment method."
Some more details:
- I have contacted Shopify support and they have not been able to resolve the issue.
- I visit other websites that use Apple Pay and it works on my device. It just does not work for me on my website. This seems to rule out that it's an issue with the phone or OS.
- I ask friends to try to use Apply Pay on my website with their phones and they get the same message.
Please help. I don't know what else to try. I have a video to show the issue but don't want to post it here because it shows my private info when I select Apple Pay.
We are having the same issue on our shopify site. Never had an issue before but I never thought about testing it today but not because of your post I tested it and it didn't work. Then I found your post.

I appreciate how frustrating it must be to have Apple Pay not work on your site. I also realize you want to offer this gateway as an incentive for easy checkout to buyers so I'd be glad to guide you as best I can.
You did mention that you're able to successfully use Apple Pay on other websites, but that it does seem to fail on yours. As others have been able to replicate this issue, I assume that the issue is with your Apple Pay gateway integration.
I want to clarify that Apple Pay is a third-party gateway and Shopify is unable to troubleshoot this on their behalf. With that being said, I recommend confirming your eligibility and then contacting Apple Pay Support directly.

Thanks for the reply. I have contacted ApplePay and they directed me to Shopify. I contact Shopify and they either can't figure out the issue or I'm sent to ApplePay. I even hired a Shopify dev who investigated and couldn't figure out the issue so he directed me to Shopify. Seems I'm getting passed around with no real resolution.

I apologize for the delay in my response due to the holiday break. I completely understand your frustration.
Considering you have connected with our Support team to rule out all possible issues on our end, the only other step we can offer is consulting with Apple Pay to ensure you are able to accept payments successfully.
With that being said, have you been able to try activating and deactivating Apple Pay from your settings? I recommend setting up the entire gateway from scratch once again, with one of our Support agents on standby to confirm and support.

I have already tried contacting Shopify support several times. I didn't make any progress with them. I just turned off Apple Pay, unfortunately.

If you do decide to try the accelerated payment gateway again, please have our support staff on standby through set-up for proactive guidance and support. While we can't ensure it will work, this does provide more insight for us to offer troubleshooting suggestions.

If Apple pay does not work and apply pay comes through shopify payments then the problem is not on our end, it is with shopify (or apple) and needs to be addressed with their relationship.
