Are gift card sales included in the same month's revenue?

Hey guys,

Can I just clarify that if someone places an order for a gift card, whilst the revenue doesn't sit in the same location as orders from other products, the payments still account for that month's revenue? Or do I need to report on this separately? 

I have placed two test orders myself, payments have gone out of my personal bank account so I assume this isn't 'held' until the recipient of the gift card orders?

Gift cards are sold the same as a product is, but gift card sales are reported differently. You can use the gift card sales report to help track your gift card sales and account for gift card purchases. When someone purchases a gift card, you receive the amount just like you would with a product sale, and when your customer pays with a gift card, it will show "gift card" as the payment method.
