Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi,
I'm trying to purchase a .co.uk domain in Shopify, but as I'm not currently a UK resident (UK Citizen living in Hong Kong) it rejects me saying "a UK address is required". I don't have one.
However, I contacted Nominex and they said this is not the case; anyone can register, as long as their identity and address (even overseas) can be verified. The process for them is just a bit more manual.
Is this a restriction Shopify itself is applying?
So, I'm assuming the issue is the Hong Kong info I'm entering in the Contact Details box on the "Buy New Domain" page. Problem is, I don't understand if these contact details apply to my whole Shopify registration (which I assume Shopify needs my REAL address), or just for the purposes of domain purchasing, in which case could I put my UK LLC virtual address here?
Or if that is neither of the above is an option, can I buy a .co.uk domain from a 3rd party and connect it to Shopify?
Thanks!
Hi, @MyCsPiTTa.
Thanks for reaching out and posting this question!
The UK address appears to be a requirement from our domain partners. However, you can use a PO Box address or connect a third-party domain to Shopify.
