Can an app track payment methods for better order management?

Hi! We are currently using with our store, Shopify Payments and Paypal at the same time. But sometimes it´s very confusing to tell which orders where paid with Shopify payments and what orders with Paypal. Is there an App that can track how many orders we are receiving with each payment to have better order managment?

Hi, @oliyoliko!

This isn't a native feature of the Orders section yet, however I can definitely put this through as feedback to our developers on your behalf! In the mean time, the only way you can filter this is through the Analytics section of your admin -

1. Navigate to Analytics > Reports.

   

2. Scroll down to the Finances section and click on Finances summary.

   

3. On the right hand side in the Payments section, you'll be able to see a breakdown of orders that were made with the different payment gateways on your website. Clicking into these will load the order numbers associated with that payment gateway.

   

I'd also like to point out the best way to differentiate whether an order has been placed through Shopify Payments or PayPal. In an order page, if you scroll down to the Timeline located below the Paid section, this is where you will see this information.

If an order has been placed with Shopify Payments, there will usually be a notification like the below -

Any orders that were placed with PayPal will have a notification like the below -

Also as you go through the Analytics section, if there is any data that you're unable to access , I would like to recommend Super Reports  Data Export which will allow you to:
- Track sales
- Gather insight into inventory
- Analyze order details
- Identify winning (and losing) products
- Monitor inventory levels

As well as a whole lot more. You can also email the reports to yourselves (and anyone else) you'd like.
