Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi,
I use Shipstation for my shipping with stamps.com as my postage provider.
I see that Shopify postage is at a lower cost.
Is there any way to get Shopify postage rates while using Shipstation to process shipments?
Thanks
Hi @RockItCool,
Unfortunately, Shopify postage rates are not transferrable through different services. Shipstation has their own discounted rates through 3rd party couriers similar to Shopify. You can have Shopify's calculated shipping quoted during checkout but, if you're shipping through Shipstation, you'll be responsible for Shipstations negotiated rates (unless you have your own courier account with custom rates linked to Shipstation).
Hi, @RockItCool.
Thank you for reaching out, and thank you, @Bluesoft_Design, for your help!
Shopify's discounted shipping rates cannot be used with other shipping services. Third-party shipping services receive discounted rates for their customers and can not use different services rates. I do recommend looking into adding your carrier account to Shipstation to see if you can receive an even better discount by connecting your account.

There in lies the problem.
Shopify is calculating one rate while shipstation (stamps.com) is calculating another so the customer is paying the Shopify calculate rate while I am paying the stamps.com calculated rate which is typically $1.00 higher.
This change was done by someone else, not me as far as I can remember.
How do I undo it and get back to using shipstation calculated rate at check out?
@RockItCool so, in your case, Shipstation is not syncing its rates correctly to Shopify. This can be corrected. You may need to uninstall and reinstall the Shipstation app on your Shopify store in order to get it to work correctly.
Below is help article from Shipstation that explain in more detail how to send your Shipstation rates to your Shopify checkout:
I think you have it backwards.
Shopify discounted USPS Priority is say: $5
Shipstation USPS Priority is say: $6
Shopify communicates to Shipstation that the customer paid $5
But Shipstation prints the $6 label, because shipstation cannot use the shopify 3rd party
