Can I add insurance to Hermes shipping in Shopify?

I can see I can now uses Hermes for shipping direct from my order screen however it shows as insured value none and I can’t see how to add insurance. Is this possible? Or are they all sent uninsured?

Happy to explain here. Shipping insurance through Shopify Shipping is only available to orders shipped from the United States at this time. There is more about the eligibility requirements linked here. This is why you're not seeing the option to purchase the insurance. Shipping labels made through Hermes via Shopify Shipping will be uninsured. 

That being said, I've gone ahead and submitted some feedback to our developers on your behalf for making this request. I appreciate wanting to use this feature when Shipping through Hermes (the UK). Thanks for asking about it here. 

Other than this, how are you liking using Hermes through Shopify Shipping so far?

Hi Hilary thanks for the reply it is a great service that is easy to use but having no insurance isn’t feasible with Hermes as they do lose a few parcels and small businesses can’t absorb their loss so until insurance is possible I wouldn’t use it.

It’s far easier to use than the old integration and I’m loving using it however without insurance I won’t be continuing as sadly Hermes do lose too many parcels for me
To ship them uninsured.
