Can I safely refund myself for unreceived payments from my online store?

Last month I used my birthday money to purchase samples from my Shopify store. From my billing, it states that I paid on the 1st of November and should've received my money on the 4th of November. I've checked multiple times whether the bank account was correct as I've been successfully able to pay for my monthly subscription since June. However, I had not received the payment and ended up paying more than double for the product with respect to shipping, VAT and production costs. How can I reclaim my money and would it be safe to refund myself without sending the items back.

I understand that you have a store and that you bought some of your own products from your store in order to test out the buyer experience.

You paid for that order on the 1st of November, and the Payout was on the 4th of November but you have not received anything in your bank account yet. This may be because of the time it takes your bank to process payments.

 

The funds might not appear in your bank account right after they're sent. Banks typically take between 24-72 hours to process deposits to your bank account, although when it comes to Shopify Payments, the payout period can vary depending on which country you're operating in.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say that you "ended up paying more than double for the product with respect to shipping, VAT, and production costs". If you are the store owner, then you are responsible for your shipping rates, your VAT tax liability, and production costs - so could you explain to me a little more how all of this was more expensive than you expected?

As I cannot access your store admin from the Community forums, I will rely on you to provide me with screenshots and as much detail about your setup as possible, so that I can get a good sense of what might be happening.
