can i sell on shopify without a photo id?

hello! i am nineteen years old and i have been selling on depop for a few months now. i’m trying to switch over to shopify because i wanted a cleaner and more personalized look to my store front, but i am having an issue. i do not possess any type of photo id, i do not drive and i do not have a passport. this was no issue on depop as i just entered my ssn and banking information and i was still able to receive my payments. would shopify accept a photo of my birth certificate if i were to upload that instead of a photo id? is there any way around a photo id or should i just cancel my subscription?

That is a great question! Just to gather some additional context, could you let us know where your Shopify store is generally located? Typically, the specific ID requirements vary based on the store's location.

We do have a great help document that goes into the Information Requirements for Shopify Payments that you may find useful. Additionally, we do have a list of identity documents that can be used listed here. If you can provide the information listed on the help documents, you can use the Shopify Payments gateway for your Shopify store.
 
In the case that you are unable to use Shopify Payments for your store, you could look to use any of the third-party payment gateways for your location available here.
