Can I sell teeth whitening kits and gym supplements on Shopify?

Hi All,

I have taken a look at Shopifys terms of use, I am wanting to start a few stores and want to make sure it is the write platform form me, as your all aware the biggest hurdle is the payments gateway which undergoes a merchant risk assessment,

I have reviewed the terms of use and they are very vague as to what businesses can and can’t operate.

my primary store and will be a teeth whitening store selling teeth whitening strips and kits directly to customers and possibly going wholesale in the future, this is classified under cosmetic but then again someone advised me it may come under pseudo pharmaceuticals - I know a few merchants that do use shopify payments but not sure whether or not they actually are allowed to, possibly being over looked by shopify? If someone can clarify that would be appreciated.

the second store is the essentially gym supplements such as proteins and preworkout - I am just a reseller of bigger well known brands, there are a few stores that also run shopify payments for this, but unsure if it is permitted. 

any guidance is appreciated.

There are restrictions in place from card processing providers that affect the sort of business that can be supported by individual payment gateway processors.

This would usually mean that products considered to be pseudo-pharmaceutical cannot be supported for use with Shopify Payments.

Stores that fall under this restriction can look into using other gateway providers or can consider removing restricted products in order to return their store to compliance.

I would also ensure you have permission to resell any copyrighted products in your store.

it didn’t answer my question though, the simple question being, are teeth whitening kits/supplies permitted to be sold via shopify payments - in this case I would need to reach out to you or your merchant risk team for assistance as seeking legal advice in this case will not work since Shopify dictates the rules 

If you could point me in the right direction that would be good. I don’t want to waste time with setting up shopify if it isn’t going to work as a total solution.
