Can I still refund a customer back on Paypal if I closed Paypal on shopify?

A customer paid through paypal express which went to my personal paypal. I don't want to deal with paypal for now so can I deactivate paypal and still be able to refund them through my paypal or shopify if they want a refund? I have fulfilled their order for now, but I don't want the same to happen with other customers.

Thanks for reaching out. Yes, you deactivate PayPal Express Checkout option on your store and still be able to refund your customer. In that case, you would log into your PayPal account and refund your customer from there. Shopify will then be notified of the refund, and it will be reflected in the admin. 

You can deactivate PayPal on your store by following these steps:

1. Navigate to Settings > Payments in your Shopify admin.
2. Find PayPal in the Additional payment methods section.
3. Click Manage.
4. Click Deactivate PayPal Express Checkout twice to confirm.
