Can I use a 100% discount code for free products on my own site?

if i add a 100% discount code, and use it on my own website. Will I get my product for free? Will there be negative sides, extra payment later, also I use print on demand site, will that have negative sides?

I've used this method many times to replace a product or send to a vendor that was direct invoiced.  With the way things are lately, it wouldn't surprise me if I was getting charged a full commission on something that I shipped for free.  But you could also create a $0 custom item and ship it to avoid that worry.
