Can I use a custodial bank account for my ecommerce platform?

Hello, I am 17 years old with my shopify account registered under my moms name but i was wondering if i can use my bank custodial account which is under my moms name. If not will i be able to use her banking information? thanks!

As you are below the age of 18, it is necessary to have assistance from a parent or legal guardian. The primary account owner, contact information, and bank account details for payouts should be in your guardian's name. However, you can have a staff account as mentioned here in your own name. Once you reach the age of 18, your guardian will have the option to transfer ownership of the store to you.

I'd recommend getting your Mom to set this up for you. In which country are you based in?

I'm based in the U.S. and I will look into a staff account due to my mom not wanting to risk any bank information being leaked which is understandable, I drop ship products from Supliful to sell to people online.

For some context the staff account will just allow you to be a user on the store however it won't allow you to add your own banking information.

You'll still need a guardian or parent that's over 18 to add the bank account information for you along with being the primary account owner and adding their contact information.
