Can I use a temporary address and Shopify payments for my online store?

Hello community, 

I am about to open a Shopify store but i have some concerns and wish to receive answers from you:

1. I'm a temporary resident in Canada but am currently in my home country Vietnam for visiting purpose. So when opening my store, should i leave my address to be the one in Canada or in Vietnam? 

2. For the payment gateways, is there any chance that i am able to use Shopify payments since i live in Canada? If not, would i be able to switch to Shopify payments as soon as i return to Canada?

It's better to use Canada from the start because that region you select has a lot to do with the payment option offered and cannot be changed once saved.

thank you for your response! I just want to be more specific: by saying “to use Canada from the start” you mean i have to wait until return to Canada to open the store?

Yes, so that your IP will read canada

Oh ok. Just to recap: I can not change my payment gateway onced it settled? I will not be able to use Shopify Payment even when i return to Canada and the IP reads Canada?

The payment option you will be able to use on your store depends on the region where the store is being created.
