Can I use Klarna express checkout button in my UK store?

Hi! My store's based in UK. I was wondering, if I could use the Klarna express checkout button on my product pages/ cart pages?

Here's a guide I found. Not sure if it will work on shopify. Can someone help me?

Unfortunately Klarna is not currently able to be integrated with Shopify as either a Shopify's accelerated / express checkout (https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/payments/accelerated-checkouts) or as a supported Klarna Express Button integration.  As merchants and consumers request this functionality of Shopify, hopefully it could be an option in the future!

Sadly still no estimate when Shopify will allow Klarna to be an accelerated checkout yet. Hopefully Klarna's On-site messaging (https://apps.shopify.com/klarna-on-site-messaging) can help, and for Shopify Plus stores, messaging could be added within Shopify checkout (not yet supported in the app, but we hope to add that there soon).

Not on par with Klarna available as an accelerated checkout, but still an improvement!

We got a request at an affiliate portal from Klarna. The App, where you can buy through Klarna is looking nice. We are asking ourselves, if Klarna only gets the commission through the app - or when someone is selecting Klarna as a pay method in the checkout...

Klarna does receive commission when a customer chooses Klarna at checkout; when using a direct integration, Klarna settles with the partner/integrator minus a small portion of the order amount (e.g. a small fixed fee & percentage).

Thanks for your fast answer. For sure Klarna gets a commission. But there is a different between a commission of the payment solution or an affiliate commission of 17% - you know what I mean?

I'm trying to integrate the Express Checkout button in my Shopify checkout. I've got it working in my minicart, however when I click it, the popup says "Sorry, something went wrong." I don't see any related errors in the console . . . any idea on what it could be?

I don't have timelines available to share currently, but Klarna Express Checkout is certainly a top priority for Klarna.  We are aware that some merchants have custom coded to create something like Klarna Express Checkout in their Shopify checkout.  We will continue to pursue making it a configurable option, but doing so is up to Shopify.  Please continue to provide feedback to Shopify to request this and hopefully that will speed up when it is made available.

@Shopify Can you please confirm why you have decided not to implement Klarna accelerated checkout as an option when so many people want it?
I suspect it has something to do with it being a competitor for ShopPay or PayPal and it is jumping the queue in the checkout process.
Some confirmation that you have no plans to implement it may give customers the information they need to decide for or against Shopify.
