Hello! Since Revolut is now a bank, could I just use the IBAN of my personal Revolut account to receive payouts from shopify payments?

Hi there, @Paile.

Thanks for popping your question here in the Shopify Community!

When using a virtual bank account like Revolut, it may not be compatible with Shopify Payments. We cannot guarantee that Shopify Payments will process payments to virtual bank accounts. Prior to adding Revolut, I recommend testing your payouts before using the virtual bank account. If any issues arise, it is encouraged to contact your virtual account provider.

In order to make sure your payouts are received successfully, you'll need to ensure the bank account associated with Shopify Payments has the following:

  • A checking / current account is added
  • The account is eligible for ACH transfers in CA/US
  • FPS transfers in IRE/UK
  • BECS transfers in AU/NZ
  • SEPA transfers in AT/BE/CH/DE/DK/ES/FI/FR/IT/NLD/SE
  • The supported currency is in your region

For more detailed context, please review our Support Countries for Shopify Payments resource.

If you have any additional questions or need help with other areas of your store, I'll be happy to answer those questions here. I recommend checking out our Shopify Changelog to stay up to date on new updates with the platform.

Hi Victoria,

Thank you for going so in depth with your answer! I had already contacted support and I was told there shouldn't be a problem. On your suggestion I'm going to make a test payout. If it works I'm going to update this post, for whoever reads it in the future. Thanks again 🙂

Hi, @Aln_Sh.

Welcome to the Shopify Community and thank you for joining the thread.

Are you having issues when adding your IBAN number to Shopify?

As shared in the thread above, Revolut is a virtual bank account and may not be compatible with Shopify Payments. We're not able to guarantee that Shopify Payments will process payments to virtual bank accounts.

You will first want to test out your payouts before using the virtual bank account. Iorder to make sure your payouts are received, you will need to ensure the bank account associated with Shopify Payments has the following:

  • A checking / current account is added
  • The account is eligible for ACH transfers in CA/US
  • FPS transfers in IRE/UK
  • BECS transfers in AU/NZ
  • SEPA transfers in AT/BE/CH/DE/DK/ES/FI/FR/IT/NLD/SE
  • The supported currency is in your region

Feel free to thread any questions that come to mind!
