Can I use Scotia bank account for Shopify payments in Canada?

Hi,

I'm living in canada. I've banked with Scotia. When i add the sort code it says invalid. Does shopify not work for Scotia bank accounts?

Can you please advise if i need to open a bank account somewhere else?

I'm happy to look into this with you. Can you confirm whether you are running into an issue when trying to add your credit card to pay your Shopify bill, or when adding your bank account to receive funds from Shopify Payments payouts? 

For payment of your Shopify bill, we accept valid credit cards from Mastercard, Visa, or American Express, and you shouldn't run into any issues with a Scotiabank credit card as long as it meets those requirements.

As for the bank account you connect to Shopify Payments to receive payouts, you will want to ensure it meets these requirements:

• The account is a full checking account.
• The account uses the payout currency of your region (in your case, CAD).
• The account can accept electronic bank transfers.
