Can Shopify handle combined shipping for identical items?

Just about every shopping cart has the option to charge $X shipping on the first item, but not the following added items. I know shopify can not do combined shipping from item to item but surly it can do multiple items of the same kind? This is pretty standards today....

1 item Shipping = $8

2 items Shipping = $8 + $1

or

3 items Shipping = $8 + $2

ect.

the reason for this is most every item fits multiple items in the same box. And if you ship .0000001 ounce vs 13 ounces, its the same rate ( with in reason). Is this not possible in shopify?

I don't think this can be achieved using native Shopify shipping rate settings. You will need a third-party app for this, such as, JsRates.

Yeah it can be quite frustrating when the functionality isn't native, but a good chance for apps like JsRates and ours (Starshipit). There are quite a few third-party options for shipping out there so just take a look through the different options and find the right one for you 🙂 I'm happy to help answer any questions if needed! Shipping rates based on quantity are not possible with Shopify flat-rate shipping.

However, it is possible to configure rates based on weight ranges or price ranges.

You can configure the weight for each product and set up shipping costs based on weight ranges.

For example, configure the product weight as 5kg and set the shipping rates as follows:

0-5kg - Rs600
5-10kg - Rs1200
etc.

I also have the Same problem, i have a general store there are like a thousand products there, but i can edit the prices, cause i cant see the shipping on the shopify page, shopify bring a solution to this, i wasn't expecting this type of Lacking from Shopify, which millions of people Use. Shame Shopify Shame.
