Can Shopify payments accept global online transactions?

I want to start an online bookshop in the Netherlands. I want to use shopify and shopify payments for this. I want to sell my books all over the world and I was wondering if shopify payments accepts online payments from everywhere in the world?

While Shopify Payments is only available for stores operating from eligible countries, once a store has successfully connected Shopify Payments on their website they will be able to accept card payments from all customers, no matter where they are located.
