Can't select Stripe anymore as payment method

Hi Guys,

I can no longer choose Stripe as a payment method no matter country I put in the settings.

This is like my 50th store, I've been doing this since 2017, and I can't choose stripe anymore, it's forcing me to select Shopify Payments.

Is this a new update, forcing people to use Shopify payments? Support couldn't do anything

Can someone please check real quick, create a new store, choose France as a country and see if Stripe shows up as a payment method.

I even tried creating a new store with a different account from the one I've been using for 5 years and still the same problem

Hello There, 

The reason you are not seeing Stripe as a third-party payment provider is likely because your country of business either does not list Stripe as an available option or Shopify Payments is available instead. Shopify Payments is powered by Stripe therefore, if you are in a region(like US) that offers Shopify Payments as a gateway, Stripe will not be available.

You can see the available payment gateways for merchants in the United States here. 

With that said, you can find our guide on setting up Shopify Payments that will outline the steps to follow. One of the benefits of using Shopify Payments is that you do not need to pay transaction fees
