Can you use credit or debit cards for purchases instead of PayPal?

I was wondering if your only allowed to do PayPal payments when purchasing or is it a way to use just a credit or debit card while checking out.

You can have many different ways of accepting payments (payment gateways) depending on where you are located in the world. Many of these will allow checking out using credit cards, debit cards or payments by installments for example.  You can view what payment gateways are available to you by checking out your country in this list. Once you find the gateway that works best for you, I have a guide here on how to go about adding a new gateway to your store.
