Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
So I have been paying out of pocket multiple times for shipping costs because customers are choosing 'Standard Shipping' ($14.90) from Canada Post but when I go to ship their package, 'Expedited" ($20.90) is the lowest option I can choose.
How come they ge the standard shipping in their options, but I dont? this is costing ma a ton of money that I cant afford. Any thoughts?
Hey, @CrystalHanson.
Thank you for reaching out and posting this question!
It sounds like you're using Canada Post's calculated rates on Shopify for your shipping rates. However, instead of purchasing the shipping labels on Shopify, you're purchasing the shipping labels and fulfilling the orders at your local postal office - is this correct?
If so, then you can consider disabling the Standard Shipping rate or by adjusting the rates and adding a handling fee to account for the differences. However, if you prefer keeping the Shopify-discounted calculated rates for your customers as is, then you may want to consider purchasing the shipping labels from Shopify and then dropping the package off at your local postal office.
I'd love to hear more about your business! What kinds of products are you selling? Do you have a marketing plan prepared for your store?
