CBD and Payment provider in France ?

Hi everybody, 

I'm opening a shop that sell product from CBD in France, I call all the payment providers available in France and none seems to accept CBD. 

Do you have any idea how to go around the problem ? 

Also I did just Vivawallet at first which is not in the payment provider list of shopify in France and that did not work. What is weird is that I saw a french website running on shopify which use Viva Wallet so I don't get why I can't do it.

Unfortunately the answer to the question is not sufficient, and the problem remains. The answer you gave is mostly for the US market, apart from a few lines but that are not helping for our problem. I would like to insist on the issue for the french market, where the CBD business is growing rapidly. 

I have a website selling CBD products, and I also have the same issue. Stripe has closed our account after seeing the type of products we are selling, Mollie rejected our application.. I am desperately looking for a payment provider accepting to be used to sell CBD products. 

Unfortunately the list of payments providers that are compliant with Shopify does not indicate if they accept or not CBD products. I have found some payment providers that are ok with working with french CBD shops, but that are not compliant (or at least not in the list) of compliant with Shopify payment providers.

Recently the situation has evolved, CBD is legal on the European level, which has been re-affirmed recently in particular for France where the CBD was in a blurry legal situation.
Now the situation is clear for every European countries, CBD commerce is legal in Europe. Therefore there must be a payment provider that accepts to work with french CBD shops. I suppose this issue is frequently asked to you Shopify Team, as many CBD sellers use your services for their website. 

2 possibilities :

Do you have a list of payment providers that are compliant with Shopify and that accept to work with french CBD shops ? 

Is it possible thanks to a independant developper or a Shopify developper to integrate a payment provider that is not yet in the list of compliant with Shopify payment providers ? 

I only found one for now that is compliant with Shopify and accepts to work with CBD shops : Clearhaus, a Danish payment provider. But their prices/rates/charges are way too expensive for for small shops (which represents for now most of the french shops as it is a recent market).

As you posted a year ago, I hope you found a payment provider for french CBD shops using Shopify. Did you ? 

If you did, could you please share the name of the payment provider ?

Or did you have to work the problem around and create a website on another website provider than Shopify ?

Hi Vincent ! 

So indeed I found a way for my client to sell CBD on shopify and that was made with VivaWallet. As they are not selling real buds but just product with CBD in it, it could be different for you.

Otherwise my client was pretty happy with the rate of this solution and it is not to difficult to fit in the website. It is just taking like 2 weeks to have it set up for you and starting getting your money on it.

Oui, je suis finalement passé par VivaWallet. 

Ils acceptent la vente de produits à base de CBD, et n'ont pas fait de remarques spéciales sur la vente de fleurs.

Par contre ils n'autorisent pas la vente de graines de collection par leur service. Nous avons dû enlever les graines de collection de notre site et on va faire un site spécifique pour nos graines. On n'a pas encore trouvé de prestataire qui accepte la vente de graines de collection et la vente de produits à base de CBD malheureusement.

VivaWallet est assez intéressant, n'hésitez pas à aller voir ou a les contacter, ils sont assez réactifs et conscients de l'éclosion de tout ces shops. Outre le service de presta de paiement digital ils se positionnent comme une vrai banque, avec CB, possibilité de louer un Terminal de paiement etc. On n'a pas été jusque là encore, mais au niveau des commissions c'est pas scandaleux, d'autant plus qu'en utilisant leur CB, on peut "annuler" ces commissions.

Sorry for not responding. Yes, I found VivaWallet, which is now compliant to use with shopify. It's quite easy to set up.

We can't sell collection Seeds through their services, but for CBD products it's ok.
