Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi
Hope someone can help. I need to change the title of the shipping rates, to indicate more than the set 'Standard' or 'Express' options. For example I need to edit 'Express' to read 'Next Day - if ordered before 2pm'.
I have searched and searched for the code to change this, but I cannot.
Is this editable? If so, where?
Thanks
Dave

Hey @ArmyOfDaves.
Thanks for getting in touch!
Great idea to change the name of the shipping rates, as this can provide your customers with more information about the shipping methods that are offered. You can make changes to the name of the shipping rates that are displayed within the checkout by navigating to Settings > Shipping and Delivery > Manage.
Within the Shipping Profile, we can select the three dots next to the rate to then make edits to the name. I took a screenshot from my test store to provide you an example of the section I am referring to:
Once you select the three dots, you should see the option to Edit Rate.
Let me know if that works for you. Happy to help out where we can!

This is possible in 2023, you can easily edit the name of shipping rates. You will need BeSure Checkout Rules app. Here are the steps after installing the app,
1 - Create a new rule of "Rename shipping methods".
2 - Inside the rule, enter the existing name of the shipping rate you want to change and then enter the new name.
3 - Click on create rule button and done.
This works for even basic Shopify plan.

Thanks Ollie.
However this only half solves the issue. I can't edit the name of existing shipping rates, so Ive created 2 new options. BUT I can't insert the subtitle of the rate (3 to 4 business days) for example.
How do I do this?
Dave
Did this ever get sorted out? I would like to change the name of the predefined shipping rate from "Standard (3 to 9 days)" to something else - probably 4 to 12 days
Hi,
I'm wanting to create the same change, however, when I click on the three dots, it isn't editable at all. instead it is a dropdown menu which allows me to select different transit times and saves them with names such as 'standard' but does not allow me to edit the names.
Please help!
Yup.. same Its been like this for as long as I can remember... Asked Shopify how to modify years ago which they said we couldn't - it comes from the API and many shippers have generic sounding shipping options which you can't even tell which is which... and makes difficult when you use many shippers...

Which part of the code is responsible for these names, can't find it. I can't afford paying for every small feature that in other CMS'es like Woocommerce are completely free.
