Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi,
We have scenario whereby we need to restrict specific products from being shipped/sold in specific countries.
Product | UK | Netherlands |
Product 1 | yes | no |
Product 2 | yes | yes |
If someone added both of the above products to their cart and entered an address in Netherlands, they would see the following message:
This order can’t be shipped to the address you entered. Review your address to ensure that all fields have been entered correctly and try again.
I'm aware that the above message can be edited through the Edit Languages area, but I came across the following options which I think would be more appropriate to use.
The issue I'm having is I'm unsure how I get these functions/ messages to work.
The default message above doesn't really give the customer any information as to why we can't ship to their address. The alternative options above would be way more informative.
When speaking with Shopify Support I was told the languages section is there so that we can change the default wording, which I understand, but I'd like to figure out how to enable the functionality that displays these additional messages.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Steve
You can restrict specific products from being shipped/sold in specific countries by using the Cart Lock https://apps.shopify.com/cart-lock app easily. Here is how you can do it:
Similarly create a separate rule for UK. Thanks.
