Clothing Rental Logistics - Need Help Programming this w/ Shopify (Dress Rentals, Clothing Rentals)

Hi everyone,

I run a clothing business and but currently handle most of my rentals manually - off Shopify, but I'm scaling and need to find a way to integrate this part of my business into Shopify. I’m finding it complicated to set up certain key features and was hoping someone with a similar rental model could offer advice.

I’ve already spoken with Book That App, and while they can handle some aspects, they’re missing a few key features I need:

1. Rental Agreement at Checkout – I need a way to add my rental agreement to the checkout page, requiring customers to read and check a box (or something similar) before proceeding. Protecting myself and having things documented is very important to me as I've been burned in the past with late fees or damaged pieces. Is there an app or Shopify solution for this?

2. Charging Late Fees/Damage Fees – Ideally, I need a way to charge a late or damage fee if a customer returns an item late or damaged. Book That App allows deposits, but I’d prefer a more flexible way to charge the card on file—similar to how Stripe lets me manually create an invoice and charge the stored payment method. Is there any way to do this through Shopify?

3. Return Labels – My customers need to ship the return rental pieces, and I typically generate USPS return labels that only charge once used. However, Shopify seems to require marking the order as "Returned" (which could trigger issues like refunds). Is there a workaround or app that allows me to generate return labels without flagging the order as a return?

Any suggestions, apps, or advice from someone running a rental business on Shopify would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!
