Confused about label printers

Hi,

Very new here. I want to use a shipping label and barcode printer and see less expensive ones on Amazon etc. Do we have to use the ones on the very short Shopify list?

Hi @AngiesByKim,

You do not have to purchase a barcode printer that is supported by Shopify, but if you do buy an unsupported printer there we cannot guarantee that it will function in the same manner as the ones we do support. There are some pieces of hardware where only supported versions will work with the Shopify POS, such as our card readers and receipt printers, but you can use your own printer for shipping labels and barcodes if you wish. You can also use the Retail Barcode Labels app to print barcode labels with whichever printer you decide to use.
