Create & print custom shipping label for local delivery - no courier used

Hi,

I want to know how I can create custom shipping labels for my orders. I will deliver all my orders locally myself without using any courier service, but still want to have the customer info and a barcode on the label.

I want to verify on the delivery app that the correct order is being delivered. So, it could be the order number at least plus the delivery info.

I want to be able to print shipping labels for free just so that i can deliver manually without any courier. 

The barcode could be the invoice number

Hi,

I had a long chat with Shopify Customer Service about exact same issue. Apparently, they have not implemented this feature yet. That means, if you choose ship, you are able to print a shipping label. But if you choose LOCAL DELIVERY or Pick Up, there is no built-in feature to print a label.

I hope Shopify address this issue very soon.

There is a work around which is painful and tricky. You can always print a label (for example with UPS or USPS), then VOID the label. That supposedly cancel the shipping label because you have not used it, but you can still stick it to your package! As I said not a good solution!

I need the same thing! Local delivery that I do myself.....and I need an automatic way to create a shipping/delivery label. come on shopify!

I use local delivery to offer a discounted courier rate as I need to use postcodes to separate rates which is only available in local delivery in AU. I can purchase shipping labels from the order list but not within the order. It would be good to have shipping labels both purchase and for own delivery available. I use local truck drivers for items not taken by couriers such as large cabinets.

Offering a solution here for those still stuck! Our app Starshipit lets you create custom shipping labels. You can do a whole lot more with them too, including setting shipping rates and sending notifications etc. Let me know if you'd like to learn more.

The best method I have found is to convert my packing slips to 4x6 labels. Here's the article that explains how to do it
