Hi Shopify Community,
We have an artist website. They sell original paintings in various sizes. Shipping (usually with UPS), includes boxing costs. The total shipping thus varies wildly depending on the painting dimension and delivery location.
We have ways of approximating the shipping fairly accurately using the zip code and dimensions (width & height).
Is there an app or other way to apply this shipping cost to each product programmatically at checkout?
Thanks!
W
Hello @willbeing
Yes, our app JsRates is the perfect solution for your problem. With JsRates, you can quickly implement your custom shipping rates based on zip code and product dimensions (pulled from metafields), using JavaScript code. We can help you setup the rules for free or provide a personalized guidance. The app has free demo plan, or full access for development stores. You can contact us on support@jsrates.com to discuss this further.
Hello @willbeing ,
If you are looking for approximate rates at checkout, it may be possible to configure them with different postal codes and dimensional weights.
However, I recommend using UPS Carrier Calculated rates at checkout. With the help of an app like PH Multi Carrier Shipping label app, you can offer accurate rates based on your UPS negotiated rates, package weight, dimensions, delivery location, etc.
Hi,
I can see that others have already offered third party solutions to you. In case you are still on lookout for a solution which allows you to set up shipping rates for every product programatically, our app ShipMagic can handle this for you.
You can install the app and reach out to our live chat support for more assistance.
This has become a thread of third-party solutions, so I'll throw ours into the ring too - Starshipit. I'm happy to chat more about it if you have any questions. Best of luck!
