Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi,
I have a store that has been working for a couple years but suddenly it won't let customers check out - they are stopped at the checkout page asking for their location. The Country drop-down box is empty, not allowing customers to select their country, which means they can't continue to the next page. We are a store that only offers pickup, so I know that the issue lies somewhere in my Local Pickup settings, but everything appears fine.
In the Settings - Shipping and Delivery page, there is a message at the top that says:
"Customers won’t be able to check out
You have no options set up for customers to receive their orders. Add shipping, delivery, or pickup options to allow customers to complete checkout."
However, I do have Local Pickup on, and there is a green box on the right saying "Offers Pickup". I clicked on it, and the correct address (including country) shows.
Can you help me figure out why this is happening? I did change around some settings recently, including installing and then deleting a third-party app called "Connected Inventory." Clearly these changes have caused the problem, but I have reversed everything I did and it hasn't solved the problem. Is there some other area that some default setting might have changed?
My store is https://shop.solidground.farm/. I did change the settings to add Local Delivery as an option, just as a temporary solution. (I'm just telling customers directly that the Local Delivery still means they come to me, until I solve this.) So the store does appear to work, but I can't figure out what's wrong with the Pickup option.
Thank you,
Wes
Hi, @solidgroundfarm
Thanks for posting to the forum. I hope your day is going well!
I had a look at your site, and did not have any issues checking out with local delivery. Were you able to solve the issue? It sounds like the issue stemmed from the change to your inventory settings. Local delivery depends on what stock is showing for the specified location, thus if there is no stock, there is no delivery.
In the meantime, I had a look at your store, and I love it! I wish I had a local food source like this to support. One thing I would recommend is to customize your theme a bit more. It appears you have gone with the standard out of the box settings, which is fine, however spicing things up a bit can add a touch more professionalism. Try playing with fonts, and colours! Another great option is to have a small photo shoot of your farm, a meal, and people enjoying your greens. We have a great free course you can check out: Ecommerce Website Store Design.
Best of luck, and let me know if you are still running into issues with Local Delivery!
