Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi,
we are experiencing issues with DHL tracking numbers which are being automatically linked to the australian post.
Currently we are using Plentymarkets and a third party fulfillment provider which is also providing tracking ID's for a number of carriers (DHL, PostAT, UPS, Hermes).
Today one of our customers noted that the direkt links, sent out by shopify, are being linked to australian post tracking pages.
We checked if the tracking ID's might have been misspelled or had an extra digit and of course if they work with DHL. And they did work and haven#t been proven to be wrong.
So therefore I added these shipping numbers in question to another order and noticed that Shopify automatically recognizes "Australian Post".
How do we fix this and what could possibly cause this? I would assume that tracking ID's provided by the australian post are different since the generated links cause an error on tracking page at "auspost".
I tried a couple of different length on this string and could get shopify to recognize "DHL" as the carrier. But when using this tracking ID on DHL I could not get the tracking information. DHL does not recognize this format on tracking ID's.
Is it possible to exclude carriers from the auto detection provided on tracking ID's by shopify?
Help is much appreciated!
Best,
Philipp
The shipping service you applied called DHL paket or DHL ecommerce which mainly serve the small package shipping in cross border ecommerce and mainly delivered by local country post service. The tracking usually able to track after past the destination country customs. Which is apparently different with DHL courier shipping.
If you care about the tracking courier changed you can ask your shipping agent to upload the original dhl packet tracking number as when the package usually have 2 tracking numbers.
Thanks for your reply @ShipAntdotcom
We noticed the following when adding multiple TrackingID's from DHL via API:
The First TrackingID received by Shopify will be correctly linked to the DHL Tracking Service.
All the following TrackingID's (all DHL) get linked to AUSPOST even though they cleary follow the same syntax as the first one.
Anyone who knows why this is happening? It apparently has to do with the matching process as indicated in my first message.
DHL Linked
Auspost Linked
Auspost Linked
I couldn't find an answer yet. Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this?
Best regards
