Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
All of my items are digital downloads. When a customer orders and uses PayPal, it is notifying me in PayPal (but not requiring me) to mark the order as shipped/print label/etc. "This is a physical product" is not checked on my products in Shopify.
Also, some PayPal payments I receive an email "Notification of payment received" while others are "X has authorized a payment to you"
Is this normal? Otherwise, how to fix? Prior to joining Shopify, all PayPal payments did not ask me to mark an item as shipped and all payment emails were titled "Notification of payment received." I am a business account, not individual.
It sounds like they want you to mark the item fulfilled in Shopify.
If that's the case, then you can go to Shopify settings > general in your store and set it to automatically fulfill all line items. If you later add items that you don't want automatically fulfilled, then you can use Order Automator to selectively take fulfillment actions based on the type, sku, tags, etc of the product.
For the payment emails, since they're coming from PayPal and the customer is paying with PayPal, I would contact them to get the best answer. To me it sounds like the same thing, and maybe PayPal triggers a different message based on a certain country or order flow, hard to know for sure though.
