Does a Shopify refund mean it's returned to the customer's payment method?

Hi,

When Shopify says that a refund was deducted from a payment to us, does it mean this amount was returned to the customer payment method?

Yes, if you had a refund deducted from your payouts, then that means the order was refunded, so the amount should of been returned to your customer (though it can sometimes take a handful of days for them to see the refund on their end).
