Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi. When using Shopify Payments, are the associated merchant fees charged against every aspect of a given order (e.g., cost of goods, taxes, and shipping paid for by the customer)? Or is the shipping paid for by a customer for an order not included in the associated merchant fee? Thank you.

Hi @GearFool,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I'm happy to provide some assistance with Shopify Payments to ensure this gets resolved.
While there are no third-party transaction fees associated with Shopify Payments, you are charged a credit card fee on all orders placed using the payment gateway. This fee is based on the plan you've selected. To learn more about the credit card processing fees, you can check out our Plans & Pricing Page.
To share some additional insight, the credit card processing rate is charged on every order that's placed online regardless of whether it's shipped or not. For example, if a customer purchases a digital product online, you will be charged the credit card processing fee. For more information on Shopify Payments, you can check out our Setting Up Shopify Payments documentation as it touches on this further.
Shipping rates and fees are a separate charge that you will be required to set up for the storefront. If however, this is something you'd like customers to pay, you can look into adjusting product pricing to balance that cost out. For more information on shipping you can check out our Shipping and Delivery document for further details.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
