My flat rate shipping fee is $6. Customer was charged $12 and the only thing she did different than prior orders was she used shop pay. Any thoughts on why this happened?
Do you have multiple shipping profiles? If you do and if the customer's order contains items from different profiles, she might get charged shipping fees from each profile.
If the buyer orders products from different shipping profiles, the shipping rates will be combined.
If this is not the case, then contact Shopify Support to rectify any incorrect shipping charges at checkout.
This happens either because the products in cart are from different shipping profiles OR different locations. Unfortunately, there is no way to solve this manually.
You need to use a third party app like ShipMagic to avoid this doubling of charges due to location or shipping profiles.
