Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Starting yesterday, get an error when I try to create UPS shipping labels for international orders. I just get an error at the top of each order that reads "The requested service is unavailable between the selected locations" and when I try to buy the label it fails. This is only happening with UPS and international orders.
Anyone else experiencing this? I can't ship out any international orders right now. I've been in contact with support and they're looking into it, but it's been a day already.
@drainyoo This error suggests that the service selected for the label creation is not available for the combination of Shipper and Destination address. You might need to cross-check the services available at UPS.com by entering the shipper and destination address. Then you can select the same service to ship the orders.
Ideally, this issue should not arise if you are displaying UPS shipping rates checkout. Since UPS can display shipping rates for a particular service at checkout, it will not have any issues creating shipping labels for the same service as well.
I am having this same error even when displaying UPS shipping rates at checkout and the customer selecting them. I’m then unable to ship it via UPS.
@ZeroFox cached shipping rates can also cause this issue if the shipping rates do not get updated at checkout, and the customers can place orders with the services. Out of the 100,000+ UPS shipments that businesses are shipping using our application, this is a very rare occurrence.
Unless the service is valid between the source and destination, and no modifications are made to the addresses after the customer places orders, the shipping labels will get printed without any issues.
After upgrading to the Shopify Basic annual plan and linking my UPS account, international shipping from Canada only displays Canada Post options, even when customers select UPS Saver. I contacted UPS support, and they confirmed that Shopify does not support UPS for international orders. Despite my UPS account being fully capable of shipping internationally, I’m forced to create labels directly through UPS rather than Shopify. Why hasn’t Shopify fixed this issue?
@Arrowvn indeed, Shopify doesn't support UPS International shipping right now. I would recommend using our Multi-Carrier Shipping Label app for Shopify to clear out your orders using your UPS account. The application is a certified UPS Ready application and supports UPS domestic as well as international shipping in all countries where UPS operates.
You can also try out the application under the 14-day free trial and see if this can be a long-term application for your business needs.
I just tried printing a shipping label to Ireland and got the same error message!!! I really don't know what to do. Do I refund the order and just not sell abroad? This is ridiculous!
I figured out a workaround. Select a different shipping option in the list, then select the UPS option and the error message should go away. Shopify is aware of the issue but they're taking forever to fix it.
We are experiencing same - Customer selects UPS and then we can't generate actual shipping label. Were you able to find a fix?
Hi there!
I recently released an app for solving this for a client, and it has already helped others with the same issue!
