Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
I am trying to set up FedEx as a shipping option as we currently only use UPS or USPS and we are preparing for the potential UPS strike. I have added my FedEx account number in the backend under "settings" then "shipping and delivery". When a customer checks out FedEx shows up as an option to pick. However, in my Shopify admin when I actually go the fulfill the order and purchase a shipping label, FedEx doesn't show up as an option for me to choose from, only UPS and USPS.
Hi, @olivelle.
While it's possible for stores to connect their FedEx account directly within the Shopify admin, the same can't be said when it comes to purchasing and printing FedEx shipping labels. Printing shipping labels from the Shopify admin is only available for supported shipping carriers that we've partnered with for our Shopify Shipping feature—you can check the table in this guide for a list of eligible shipping carriers.
While there isn't a native way in the Shopify admin that will allow you to print FedEx shipping labels, you can install a third-party shipping app from our App Store to help you achieve this. A popular and highly-rated one that a lot of our merchants opt for is this one here, so you can take a closer look at that one to begin with to see if it'll suit your needs. If not, feel free to browse our App Store for more options that you can consider.
Just a note however that with all third-party apps from the Shopify App Store, because they are developed outside of the Shopify platform you'll need to reach out to the app support team directly if you have any specific questions or concerns about an app. The app's support team are best equipped to assist you with any of your app-specific queries.

Hi Kimi,
as another merchant, I know many of us are looking for alternative shipping options because UPS has been unreliable recently and the impending strike leaves us with few alternatives. Could Shopify explore partnering with Fed Ex? I ship perishable products that must be overnighted and without UPS or another reliable overnight service my whole business is in trouble
Hi, @Butterflyriver.
Thanks for joining this thread and sharing your thoughts with us. I definitely understand your concerns, and can see how important it is to be able to have a wider variety of shipping carriers being offered as a part of our Shopify Shipping feature.
While we can't share any details about the future of Shopify Shipping, I've relayed your feedback to the most relevant internal team so that they're aware of the growing need of integrating FedEx, and other carriers, as a Shopify Shipping partner. Just a note that we can't guarantee when and if changes will be made, or provide a timeline for updates on this request. However any updates will be listed in our Changelog here.
Thanks again for sharing your feedback with us. In the meantime, and as explained in my initial reply on this thread, you can still look into integrating FedEx if you have an account with them—you just won't be able to print or purchase a shipping label directly within the Shopify admin for their labels at this stage, without the help of a third-party app.

Hi @olivelle,
As mentioned by @Kimi there isn't a native way in the Shopify admin that will allow you to print FedEx shipping labels, I will recommend you check out the PH Ship, Rate and Track app.
The app allows you to print FedEx Shipping labels within your Shopify store and you can streamline your entire shipping process.
Feel free to reach out for further assistance. I will be happy to help!
