FedEx shipping cost based on state / zip code

Hi all,

We have recently negotiated a new contract with FedEx for shipments worldwide. However, I just noticed that FedEx uses 2 different shipping zones for US shipping (Westcoast and rest of US) - with vastly different shipping rates between them.

At this moment we have one shipping rate for each Shopify market (i.e. 1 for whole of US). Is there a way to seperate this based on state or ZIP code?

You can configure shipping zones based on country and region; however, configuring based on zip codes is not possible. 

I recommend trying the FedEx Ship, Rate, and Track by PH app to integrate your negotiated FedEx account. It offers accurate rates at checkout without the need for configuring zip codes or zones.

Additionally, the app enables you to generate FedEx labels directly from your Shopify order page.

It is currently not possible in Shopify to create shipping zones based on zipcodes. However, you can create a separate shipping zone in Shopify for every state and hence create separate shipping rates for each state.

However, if you want to use zipcodes, you would need to use a third party shipping rate app like ShipMagic to do so. You can also use your FedEx account in the app to show your negotiated rates as live rates to your customers on the checkout page. That way, the customers will always see the actual cost you are going to incur for shipping their items.

I'm sorry, I don't have an answer to your question, but I was wondering if you could tell me how you connected your Fedex account to your shopify store?

Log in to your account and search for FedEx Ship Manager (FSM). There they offer plugins for Shopify stores. You print the labels from the FSM dashboard, not from Shopify.
