First time Customer Issues

First time Customer Issues

We have been in business for 25 years.   We are seeing an explosion of first time customers that claim their order is damaged and want a refund.   When we get the email, I don't even have to look, its a first time customer.

I don't know if we are being discussed on a message board and we are being targeted, but I addressed it with a customer and I told them we were banned and they bragged about how they got free stuff from us.

Without going into each order, is there a way to highlight first time customers on the "to be shipped page."

We are posting a new policy that new customers must ship back any defective item at their expense for the item to be examined before they will be refunded or credited.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I think you can add order tag (or customer tag) based on the number of orders a customer placed (is equal to one for first time customers) using Shopify Flow app (a free app by Shopify): https://apps.shopify.com/flow

Do remember to have another automation or procedure to remove the tags.

Also use in tandem with views , aka saved searches,  in the order admin to list out those specific orders.

Or filter them out from the normal order process to be handled separately.
