Free standard shipping discount code

How can we create a discount code for free standard shipping? Not all shipping rates just standard usps. Thank you for any help!

What do you mean when you say just standard USPS?
Shipping discounts can be configured by going to Discounts from your left navigation -> Create Discount -> Free Shipping and fill in the details for the discount code. 

Once users then reach checkout, they can input that discount code to get certain % or amount off from their selected Shipping.

The discount code that I’ve created for free shipping populates a free shipping option for all rates unless caped by a dollar amount. I’m looking to create a discount code for free standard shipping without having to guess the dollar amount cap that would be required for ground shipments.

In that case, if you are do not know how to code, your best bet is to search for an app that does for that you. The other option is to use Script Editor (Free App by Shopify), where we get the title of your Free Standard Shipping and then add code to discount it by certain amount or %. Let me know if you need help implementing it.

Just FYI, Script Editor is only available in Shopify Plus plan and is soon getting depreciated too. Instead, Shopify function will be used to achieve the same thing.

Yep this is fairly straightforward - but let me know if you've got any questions.

To create a discount code for free standard shipping in Shopify, specifically for USPS standard shipping:

1. Log in to your Shopify admin panel.
2. Go to "Discounts" in the left sidebar.
3. Click "Create discount" at the top right.
4. Choose "Free shipping" as the discount type.
5. Set up the discount details:
   • Enter a discount code (e.g., FREESTANDARDSHIP)
   • Set the countries where the discount applies
   • Choose specific shipping rates (in this case, select only the USPS standard shipping option)
6. Set any minimum requirements if desired (e.g., minimum purchase amount).
7. Set the maximum number of times the discount can be used (optional).
8. Choose the start date and end date for the promotion (if applicable).
9. Click "Save discount" to activate it.

Shopify native discounts do not let you choose shipping methods, but rather have an 'exclude shipping rates over a certain amount' option.

hi @TC13 Not sure if you can find a working solution for this or not. But if you are using USPS and want to implement conditional free shipping for one of the USPS services then I think I have a solution for you. It would require our Multi-Carrier Shipping Label app and the capped dollar amount.

You would be required to connect your USPS account within the app to display shipping rates. You will be able to set up a conditional rule that will provide a 100% discount on the USPS services of your preference.
