Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Recently we've had 9 international orders fail to pass customs recently due to the fact that the shipments need the customers National ID Number, for instance when shipping to Spain from Canada. We've had 2 shipments get held at customs until we get the DNI number from the customer. Our shipment broker says we need this information moving forwards.
Is there a way to get the customer to fill that information in the checkout experience rather than setting some sort of flow to email the customer asking for that information, which possibly delays the shipment if the customer doesn't see the email?
Are there other more elegant solutions that I'm not thinking about?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Hi KR3LT,
Depending on the value of the orders, you could use IOSS to EU if the value is under 150€. That would at least help with the customs process.
Thanks for the idea! Unfortunately we sell wooden baseball bats, A significant portion of our sales are above 150€.
