Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi,
A customer paid for two $100 vouchers by mistake so I refunded one
When I went to my profile to check in the gift card's history, it looks like I should have received a payout of $97, but I only received $94.
I'm assuming this is due to a $3 charge (?) per transaction?
If that were the case, how do I pass on that charge to the customer?
If anybody has any leads, that'd be much appreciated
Cheers,
Hi, @WoE.
Thanks for reaching out and posting this question.
When refunding an order, it's important to note that some payment gateways do not return the transaction or processing fees. For example, if you're using Shopify Payments, then you can learn more about that here: Shopify Payments refunds - Transaction fees. That being said, while there isn't a way to pass the transaction or credit card processing fees onto the customers natively, you can consider using something like Magical Product Fees or UpCharge Fees Addons Surcharge to add extra fees to your customers' orders.

Thank you for the explanation, and I see there is a charge to use apps that allow for extra charges, when it could be easily added into the checkout, if activated in the back office (it would be great if that option exist)... this is a bit frustrating.
Thanks for the prompt reply and sharing this feedback!
