Received an email from Google Merchant saying my current shipping speed on Google is listed as 1-99 days, and it is shown to Google users as 99 days. They recommend I update shipping speed in Shopify. Problem is, I cannot find where it even says 99 days anywhere in the shipping settings. In fact, none of my rates have shipping speed even listed as an option. What am I missing?
I read the Shopify article on shipping speeds but cannot determine which setting needs to be changed. Can anyone provide some guidance or tips to fix or avoid this? Thanks.
Step 1) Go to Shopify > App > click on the shoppin app > settings > change shipping from automatic to manual
Step 2) Go to Google Merchant Center > Top right corner > click on the gear icon > shipping > click on the shipping settings > edit it
Make sure to add the correct shipping rate, if you don't know, contact your courier for more info.
Hi,
I do not have the Shoppin app. The email from Google referenced the Shopify Shipping Settings to change the shipping speed, but it does not let you change it unless you have multi origin enabled. I added another location and it still will not let show me options for multi origin according to Shopify help files. I resorted to creating my own shipping profiles to show shipping speeds instead of calculated, but this not as accurate especially shipping to California and I am in the Southeast. I much prefer calculated shipping from the carrier, but for some reason it will not show shipping speeds when you choose the carrier. I have been down the rabbit hole of every menu and help page, but the options Shopify mentions are not present in my site.
Will just changing or adding shipping rates directly into Google Merchant Center fix this? Also, is it better to have a standalone google shopping feed database rather than go through a third party vendor like Shopify? I have found using the sales channels to be rather challenging.
Thanks for trying.
The shopify app (fee one) is great if you have no special requirements. IE simple store, simple setup.
For more advanced setups, and features such as improving your feed etc, you should indeed use a paid service. There are a lot of tools, I use datafeedwatch, if I want advanced features. I use simprosys if I want basic setups, and use multiple shopping feeds for targeting other countries where I need to match the language.
It is best to setup shipping directly in Google Merchant Center.
