I'm sorry to hear you're running into issues when trying to upload documents for Shopify Payments verification.

Could you advise what country/region you're located in? The reason I ask is which documents we can accept varies by Shopify Payments region. If your passport is not being accepted for identity verification, you can find your country/region in our supported countries for Shopify Payments resource by clicking your Country > requirements for Shopify Payments. I'll share an example below of how to find this section.

When uploading your identity documents, please note the following:

• The ID must be a standard government-issued photo ID. Commonly we accept driver's licenses, passports, and federal identity cards. 
• ID provided must be a colour copy, we cannot verify with greyscale images.
• All edges should be visible (nothing cut out of the picture). No information can be redacted or covered.
• There cannot be any watermarks over the ID images.
• Your document must completely match the name on the Shopify Payments account. 
• The date of birth on file must match the provided ID. 
• Where front and back are required, we will need two separate files (one for the image of the front and another file for the image of the back).
• Only the "front" of a passport is required (the full open page where their photo is), we do not need an image of the back of a passport.
• It must be valid, we cannot accept expired IDs.
• It must be a photograph taken using a camera, for example with a cellphone. We cannot accept scans or copies of IDs. It must be a new, original photograph taken by you, for the purpose of submission to our team.
