We are a very small USA business and interested in selling our products to client isn the EU and UK.
Do any of you know of a shipping service that will pay VAT on your behalf?
You collect the shipping rate + taxes and duties and the carrier takes care of VAT payment to the correct country.
It doesn't make sense for us to set this up for just a few packages per month.
Passport used to offer a direct integration with Shopify that was perfect, unfortunately, they stopped offering this service.
Any guidance or tips would be highly appreciated.
Hi Jgessentials,
With the risk of sounding arrogant: We got you 🙂
We are helping currently around 1500 sellers around the world reach EU and UK customers, fully automated and in compliance. Our Shopify application: https://apps.shopify.com/eas-eu-compliance
Thank you. I believe there are specific thresholds under which there is no need for us to collect VAT (these vary per country but we are under for sure).
How does this come into play and do we still need to be registered if we are not collecting VAT?
I think this answer will be helpful to others looking for similar solutions.
Thank you
Julien
Hi Jgessentials,
The thresholds do not apply since 1st July 2021. VAT is levied on all distance sales to EU. Intra-EU cross-border thresholds still exist, but they do not apply to you as a US company,
