How can I accept ACH payments or e-checks on a basic Shopify plan?

Hello!

I am looking to implement some form of either ACH direct debit payment on our checkout or a way to accept e-checks. Our website has items that are $1,900+ each and is mainly used by designers who work for clients, therefore a check or bank account option would be best to receive payment. I am aware that Shopify Plus offers ACH as a payment method, but as we are a smaller business for the time being, we simply cannot have the 2k monthly plan fee. Can anyone please help me find an app or third party integration that will accept these types of payments, just as an option, for my Shopify basic plan?

I understand that you are looking for a method to accept cheques or direct debit payments. You can look into setting up Manual Payment Methods. During checkout, customers choose "Pay by Cheque". Then, you provide instructions on how to make the payment. For more details, check out this guide here.

If you're still in the process of setting up your shop, I suggest viewing The General Checklist as it’s great tool that will ensure that you have your Shopify store all set up. You can go through the checklist and be confident that you have a finished product, that includes having your media, shipping and check out all in working order.

It's too bad that Shopify doesn't make this easier. Credit card feeds add up, and you would think that the monthly fee + fees for apps that we pay to use Shopify would include an option to help us make more profit!
